Gems Twist is a free flash game offered by Novel Games. It is basically a classic match-3 puzzle, where the objective is to get a high score by destroying gems and preventing them from filling the gameboard. To destroy gems we have to create horizontal or vertical lines with at least three gems of the same color. Usually, the match-3 mechanics allows us to move single gems or objects separately to create lines, but this game works in a slightly different way. Here, gems are arranged in groups of 4, and we need to rotate them until one of them finds a matching line. This 'square' can be rotated clockwise or counter clockwise; we can change this feature at any moment during the game. This particular feature makes the game a bit more difficult than the traditional gameplay, since finding matches requires more than just clicking and moving items. Instead we have to observe the grid more carefully and rotate the gems in the most convenient way, and all this within a certain time limit. Every level requires a specific score, so once we manage to achieve it, we pass to the next level. Although simple, the game is quite entertaining, and effective for a moment of leisure.
