The stand-alone and very easy-to-use environment integrates a powerful MS Word-like unicode text editor for editing help topics with dynamic styles and live spell checker, advanced approach to working with graphical files, and many other useful tools.HelpSmith, the help authoring tool from Divcom Software, enables creating technical documentation from scratch and also lets you import help topics from HTML, Word RTF, TXT files that can be written in multiple Unicode or ANSI code pages.

With HelpSmith you can provide help files for your software in many output formats including context-sensitive CHM Help files, a standard format for program's help files in Windows. HelpSmith has support for all the features of CHM Help, allowing you to create the hierarchical Table of Contents, keyword index, also you can edit html help's help windows, and so on.For the users of other help authoring tools, HelpSmith provides the Import feature, making it possible for you to import your existing help projects stored in HTML Help Workshop (HHP files) or directly from compiled CHM files.
